Photography in the natural world requires a special kind of seeing which demands time and patience. It is well worth the effort whether or not a camera is in hand, but occasionally, we are granted the additional gift of an image which can capture a piece of that remarkable experience.

For
over 20 years, it has been my pleasure to serve as a member, webmaster and photographer for the
Conservation Commission in my rural New Hampshire community of
Chesterfield. The commission has been the leading force for the
preservation of our towns open and wild spaces. We have also worked to
make the natural treasures of Chesterfield accessible through the development
and maintenance of an extensive trail system. Collected here are a
selection of the images primarily from the Chesterfield, captured during years of
exploration and trail work. I have also included photographs taken from
other parts of New England and the North Eastern United States.  |
