Minutes
September 25, 1996

Chesterfield, New Hampshire
Meeting began at 7:35 P.M.
Members Present:Kate Haines, Tom Dustin, McKim Mitchell , Kathy Davidson, Jeff Newcomer and Tim Butterworth. Members absent: Cliff Lerner
Kate made a motion and 2nd by Tom to accept minutes of August 28, 1996. All in favor.
McKim distributed information from a meeting that McKim and Tim attended in Lebanon. Subject matter: "Improving Wetlands Permitting Process". Kate Merriam from the state will speak to the conservation commission sometime in the future re: this.
Land Trust Alliance, book list and more was shared by McKim. Possibly in the future some purchases will be made for the commission.
Forestry Plan for Friedsam
- ....Some discussion. Mixed feelings about the project. Further discussion at October meeting. Jeff and Tom (trail committee for Friedsam) will now also investigate the "Forest Management Plan" Please note that in the 1994 town report the commission stated that it would conduct a forestry plan for Friedsam with some timber management. In the 1995 annual report it states, "Hopefully we'll be addressing the forestry plan for Friedsam, updating it, and possibly harvesting some timber if that is recommended."
Goals and objectives will be discussed at the October meeting. Kathy will do a rough draft of Friedsam signage for the October meeting.
Pacek complaint near recycling center. The selectmen will send a letter to Mr. Pacek.
Wetland Applications Update:
- George Joslin resubmitted using the standard form. Please note at this time (WT 304.08 from the NH Dept. of Environmental Services Wetlands Program) Beaches. The size of a new beach serving a single residence shall not exceed 900 square feet. No new private beach shall utilize more that 20 percent of the applicant's contiguous shoreline. Replenishment of existing beaches shall be limited to one replenishment in a 6 yr. period. Folta #96-01419 required additional information: dimensions of dock, setback information, and material proposed for path.
New Business:
- 1997 budget proposed $875.00. If shoreline properties are mailed information, there will be an additional amount added to the budget to cover postage. Tim will get book rate figures for a mailing.
Work Date:
- .Any commission member and their families/friends are invited to Friedsam on Sunday, October 6, 1996 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. to pick up trash and check signs
