Hello from Rye Beach (I know, I'm supposed to be doing trail work!),

Congratulations to Conservation Commission member Lynne Borofsky for getting a kiosk grant from the Forest Society. This will enable us to put a "Chesterfield Recreation" kiosk at the town office, at Weirs Beach and at Chesterfield Gorge (pending state approval). Good work Lynne.Summer on Kilburn Pond, Pisgah State ParkKilburn Pond Swim, Pisgah State Forest, Hinsdale, New Hampshire

Reminder of the Monadnock Conservancy Annual Meeting. It will be on the 24th at the Crotchet Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, Registration and continental breakfast from 9 to 10, followed by a talk, "Speaking for the Forests" by well know author and friend of the forest Stephen Long. There will be several field trips of varying intensity starting at noon. The deadline for registration is the 14th. Registration and more information can be optained by calling 603-357-0600. You can also Google the MC website.

The Monadnock Conservancy Annual meeting is always a fine time and a good opportunity to learn more about a great organization.

The Friends of Pisgah is still looking for a couple of new board members. For information email John Hudachek at pjpillars@gmail.com or Kim Nielson at wilshy@worldpath.net.

Stay dry,

Tom
